JESUS speaks on sin

John 1:17

King James Version

17 For the law was given by Moses,

but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

What does JESUS say about sin?

What did He think of it?

What was the source of sin?

I turn to the Bible for answers.

Let's listen to the LORD's own words.

JESUS came to earth, to save sinners.

Luke 5:32

King James Version

32 I came not to call the righteous,

but sinners to repentance.

Luke 19:10

King James Version

10 For the Son of man is come

to seek and to save that which was lost.

JESUS points out the source of sin:

Matthew 15:18-19

King James Version

18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth

come forth from the heart;

and they defile the man.

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts,

murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts,

false witness, blasphemies:

Matthew 12:34-37

King James Version

34 O generation of vipers,

how can ye,

being evil,

speak good things?

for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart

bringeth forth good things

and an evil man out of the evil treasure

bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you,

That every idle word that men shall speak,

they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified,

and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

John 8:44-45

King James Version

44 Ye are of your father the devil,

and the lusts of your father ye will do.

He was a murderer from the beginning,

and abode not in the truth,

because there is no truth in him.

When he speaketh a lie,

he speaketh of his own:

for he is a liar,

and the father of it.

45 And because I tell you the truth,

ye believe me not.

No wonder, JESUS asked we love GOD, with all our heart.

And to love each other, as ourselves.

Mark 12:30-31

King James Version

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God

with all thy heart,

and with all thy soul,

and with all thy mind,

 and with all thy strength:

this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this,

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

There is none other commandment greater than these.

No wonder, JESUS commended those with a pure heart.

Matthew 5:8

King James Version

8 Blessed are the pure in heart:

for they shall see God.

No wonder, GOD searches the heart:

Jeremiah 17:10

King James Version

10 I the Lord search the heart,

I try the reins,

even to give every man according to his ways,

and according to the fruit of his doings.

No wonder, GOD wants to give us a new heart:

Ezekiel 36:26-27

King James Version

26 A new heart also will I give you,

and a new spirit will I put within you:

and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,

and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you,

and cause you to walk in my statutes,

and ye shall keep my judgments,

and do them.

We really must guard our heart:

Proverbs 4:23

King James Version

23 Keep thy heart with all diligence;

for out of it are the issues of life.

It's really about all we have in our heart.

JESUS warned:

John 8:24

King James Version

24 I said therefore unto you,

that ye shall die in your sins:

for if ye believe not that I am he,

ye shall die in your sins.

Mark 1:15

King James Version

15 And saying,

The time is fulfilled,

and the kingdom of God is at hand:

repent ye,

and believe the gospel.
