LIST of sins

 

John 8:34

King James Version

34 Jesus answered them, 

Verily, verily, I say unto you, 

Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.


How man denies it so.

This acknowledgment of sin.

Wherein he thinks he is worldly and wise.

Precisely the cause of his personal downfall.

There is the original sin, and the unforgivable sin,

And yet the Bible has much more to say about sin.

As in these verses:

Genesis 4:4-7

King James Version

4 And Abel, 

he also brought of the firstlings of his flock 

and of the fat thereof. 

And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. 

And Cain was very wroth, 

and his countenance fell.

6 And the Lord said unto Cain, 

Why art thou wroth? 

and why is thy countenance fallen?

7 If thou doest well, 

shalt thou not be accepted? 

and if thou doest not well, 

sin lieth at the door. 

And unto thee shall be his desire, 

and thou shalt rule over him.


Exodus 20:2-5

King James Version

2 I am the Lord thy God, 

which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, 

out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, 

or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above,

John 8:44-45

He was a murderer from the beginning,

Romans 7:23

Romans 14:23

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

James 1:14-15

14 But every man is tempted, 

when he is drawn away of his own lust, 

and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, 

it bringeth forth sin: 

and sin, when it is finished, 

bringeth forth death.


James 4:4

King James Version

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, 

know ye not that the friendship of the world 

is enmity with God? 

whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world 

is the enemy of God.


James 4:17

King James Version

17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, 

and doeth it not, to him it is sin.


1 John 5:17

King James Version

17 All unrighteousness is sin: 

and there is a sin not unto death.


Revelation 21:8

King James Version

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, 

and the abominable, and murderers, 

and whoremongers, and sorcerers,

and idolaters, and all liars, 

shall have their part in the lake 

which burneth with fire and brimstone: 

which is the second death.

The UNFORGIVABLE sin

 


Proverbs 8:13

King James Version

13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: 

pride, and arrogancy, 

and the evil way, 

and the froward mouth, 

do I hate.


The previous post tells us of the ORIGINAL sin.

But what about the UNFORGIVABLE sin?

We know sin is grievous and an abomination to GOD.

But what makes sin unforgivable?

JESUS tells us Himself:

Matthew 12:31-32

King James Version

31 Wherefore I say unto you, 

All manner of sin and blasphemy 

shall be forgiven unto men: 

but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost 

shall not be forgiven unto men.

32 And whosoever speaketh a word 

against the Son of man, 

it shall be forgiven him: 

but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, 

it shall not be forgiven him, 

neither in this world, 

neither in the world to come.


The gospel of Mark explains why:

Mark 3:30

King James Version

30 Because they said, 

He hath an unclean spirit.


Accusing JESUS of having an "unclean spirit" is truly unforgivable.

It is a sin against the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD.

Why did the Pharisees say JESUS had an "unclean" spirit?

Again, only the LORD JESUS can reveal our hearts:

Matthew 12:22-29

King James Version

22 Then was brought unto him one 

possessed with a devil, 

blind, and dumb: 

and he healed him, 

insomuch that the blind and dumb 

both spake and saw.

23 And all the people were amazed, 

and said, Is not this the son of David?

24 But when the Pharisees heard it, 

they said, 

This fellow doth not cast out devils, 

but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.

25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, 

and said unto them, 

Every kingdom divided against itself 

is brought to desolation; 

and every city or house divided against itself 

shall not stand:

26 And if Satan cast out Satan, 

he is divided against himself; 

how shall then his kingdom stand?

27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, 

by whom do your children cast them out? 

therefore they shall be your judges.

28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, 

then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, 

and spoil his goods, 

except he first bind the strong man? 

and then he will spoil his house.


Being born again helps us understand how to revere the the HOLY SPIRIT.

Something not too many people, even Christians, know.

But it's time we did.
